CLIMBING MULLERNALP

Location: 34R8+G58 Glarus North (Google Plus Code)

In Glarnerland you can climb as far as the eye can see. It starts very close to the studio, where you climb on the Mullernalp on the Steger and Wyss walls with unique views and a medium level of difficulty. However, you first have to hike to the climbing garden, which is about a 50-minute walk from Mullern. It's worth it!

You can also find an overview of other climbing and bouldering areas and possible climbing routes on the website "the crag".

SLEDGING WEISSENBERGE

Location: Alte Strasse 7, 8766 Matt

The Weissenberge toboggan run in Glarus Süd is our favorite. The Matt Weissenberge cable car takes you directly to the sledging fun. The toboggan run has it all and guarantees a racy descent. It's best to take the cable car up, enjoy a cheese fondue with schnapps in the mountain inn and then tackle the rather steep slope.

Sledging is also great at the Kerenzerberg cable car, not far from the studio. You can go sledging here in winter and ride down on a scooter in summer.

You can find lots more tobogganing ideas on the Glarnerland Tourism website.

MYTHS AND LEGENDS

From romantic to gruesome, "Ds Vrenelisgärtli", "Der Grenzlauf", "Rufelihund" or "Der Ziegenhirt am Oberblegisee" are just a few of the tales and legends that are told in the Glarnerland, some of which you can also "hike", such as the Vrenelisgärtli on the Glärnisch or enjoy a cool, locally produced beer with the "Rufelihund" in our studio. By the way, in the studio we have the book "Glarner Sagen" (only available in German) in the book selection for you, if you are still a little more curious.

Vrenelis Gärtli in Glarner-German

Incidentally, the story of Anna Göldin is not a legend but a true story. One of the last women to be accused and executed as a witch in Europe lived in Glarus. The old Zwickyhaus, where Anna served as a young maid, still stands today in the old part of the village of Mollis.

GLARNER PRODUCTS & CREATIVE WORKSHOPS

Glarnertüechli" and Schabziger cheese are probably the two best-known products from the Glarus region. But you should also try a coffee with Magenträs, Glaner pâté or Glarnen pear bread. Or a glass of Glarner Alpenbitter schnapps at the end of a day's hiking.

In addition to many traditional companies such as Elmer Citron, Horgen Glarus, Stöckli, Eternit (Swisspearl), Adlerbräu or Geska (Schabziger), you will also find many younger companies that manufacture their products in Glarnerland or are based here with their creative workshops, such as LeFoulard, the print artist Dafi Kühne or the fashion and textile studio of Mara Danz.

Some of the companies can be visited in conjunction with Glarus Tourism and the Industrial Espionage program with advance notification and a contribution towards costs on certain dates.

And by the way: if someone offers you a "Ziger-Brüütli", you'll gladly say yes, it's bread spread with delicious Zibu (Ziger butter).
